The isekai gods had been watching her—she thinks, after much consideration. Because that is the only way she can rationalize the choice she was given.
Hero, villain or NPC.
The system's robotic voice explained everything to her, but it felt like a fever dream.
So she died. And now she's here, looking at a floating, translucent selection screen with the options
Hero, villain and NPC.
The choice was obvious— the most interesting characters in a fantasy novel were the villains! She would like to experience a life of mischief and tyranny (it's a fictional universe, right? There are barely any consequences to it.)
But when the system transported her to the main villain's teenage years, she realized her mistake. Yin Fengfei was a prodigy disciple, and now she made the horrendous choice of turning this lively girl into a cruel antagonist to— who knows! One of her fellow disciples? An innocent young girl from a faraway village who had nothing to do with the main plot in the first place????
The isekai gods were laughing at her face, now, watching as the now young Yin Fengfei lived through her youth years in one of the most prestigious Cultivation Sects in the land, just waiting for the day she would ruin it all. But the system wouldn't be so kind to give her the whole plot, would it? Little did she know that when the inevitable came, she would be again teleported to when the villain was at her prime.
What happened to the friends that she made? Who are these people who now serve her? What is this strange realm?
Oh, the consequences of our actions. Fengfei does not have the heart of a villain anymore, now does she? Will she try to fix whatever she'd done? Will the system let her step off of her role as the villain?

It is a silly little Xianxia isekai plot, I know. Any familiarities with SVSSS are— hm, well. Yeah... One can see that this author is a fan, right?
I don't believe ERIF is going anywhere, but I still really like it and have fond feelings for it.
